thank you for using THE Australian Institute of Professional Photography'S SEARCH FOR A PRO FACILITY
As an AIPP Accredited Professional Photographer, I take great pride in creating engaging imagery for all of my commercial photography clients. Can I help you too?
G'day, I'm Fred McKie and I'm a Noosa-based independent commercial photographer. AIPP-accredited and an international award-winner, I have a reputation for creating vibrant, high-clarity images that serve my clients well.
Due to ongoing commitments, my availability for scheduling photoshoots is currently limited to Saturdays, however if that suits you fine I'd be delighted to receive your brief.
With more than 20 years experience as a content creator behind me and specialising in commercial photography, I am well positioned to understand the needs of your business.
I believe in creating memorable imagery that tells a story and generates emotion, but also understand that my job goes beyond pretty pictures. I always strive to exceed expectations - not only with the images I deliver to clients but also with my approach throughout the project and my communication from start to finish.
Creative photography plays a pivotal role in advertising, marketing and branding initiatives, from billboard campaigns to engaging customers on social media platforms, so I always ensure I have a full understanding of each and every client's needs to ensure they get exactly what they want.
Experienced at working with art directors and graphic designers, and with an editorial production and graphic design background myself, I seek to add value to every client interaction and understand the importance of delivering work on schedule and on budget.
To ensure a stress-free process for my clients, all terms are clearly outlined at the start, the photoshoot is organised efficiently and proofs/final images are supplied on time.
Adhering to business best practices and respecting the industry code of ethics, I can either work autonomously to fulfil your brief - taking full creative control or ticking off a specific shot list if required - or work in collaboration with yourself or a team of creatives.
Rest assured that I can get the job done regardless of whether it's a simple shoot involving just myself and my standard kit or something far more complex, whether involving specialised equipment, multiple assistants or a considerable production team. Industry connections mean I can easily pull together producers, stylists and make-up artists as required ... or even organise talent, whether from an agency's books or an online casting call depending on your budget.
My services include either fully in-house post-production or utilising highly talented professional retouchers to ensure delivery of beautifully polished image files.
My clients also benefit from an effortless online proofing tool that dramatically simplifies the process of choosing images for retouching and supply following a photoshoot, including enabling you to review sets of images grouped by relevant keywords. (Curious to see this in action? Be sure to let me know ... I'd be happy to send you a link to a sample proofing gallery or provide a demonstration!)
The big picture
Predominantly active in the Noosa, Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay and Brisbane regions, with clients ranging from local small businesses and councils to multinational corporations and creative agencies, I am commissioned to work on a broad mix of assignments. In general, however, my photography tends to focus on people, places and spaces. Essentially, everything from shooting lifestyle images or working on destination marketing campaigns to general marketing photographs, image libraries for hotels/resorts and architecture/interiors including project photography.
Print journalism experience spanning almost 20 years and encompassing reporting, sub-editing and page layout - including a seven-year stint with News Limited - means I'm also well-equipped to provide other creative services if desired. Writing, editing or design.
Essentially, no job is too big or too small.
